In a new promo, Johar tells viewers: ‘It is my last season... I'm not acting, I'm not pretending. It is my last.’ The promo also includes a reference to cricketers, with Johar saying, ‘Cricketers are not invited. They are also not coming.’ Separately, Pinkvilla has reported that the guest lineup for the final season may include Ananya Panday and Ananya Birla appearing together on an episode. However, the Times of India notes that the official guest list has not yet been revealed. The show, which began in November 2004, has moved from television to digital streaming on Jio Hotstar over its run. With Season 9 billed as the final instalment, attention is on which celebrities will appear on the couch for the show’s last run. The season begins streaming on October 14. ## Indian Opinion Analysis Pinkvilla and the Times of India diverge mainly in what they lead with: Pinkvilla frames the story around an exclusive guest list, while the Times of India focuses on Johar's confirmation that the show is ending. The Times of India's report is straight news agency-style coverage of the promo, offering no slant. Pinkvilla’s exclusive claim about Ananya Panday and Ananya Birla being guests is not confirmed by the host or platform, leaving the lineup unverified. The only concrete, shared fact across both sources is the October 14 premiere and Johar's statement that this is the final season. The key open point is the guest lineup, which the makers have yet to announce. ## Coverage Coverage: 2 sources, 1 neutral, 1 sensationalist - pinkvilla.com (sensationalist) Leads with an unconfirmed exclusive guest list claim - timesofindia.indiatimes.com (neutral report) Straight reporting of promo, no editorial slant This brief was synthesised by AI from the 2 sources linked above, so one read covers every framing they carry.
