Kothagudem police have arrested eight accused, including an inter-state offender, for a series of chain-snatchings across several mandals. SP B Rohith Raju said a special investigation cracked the cases reported from Aswaraopet, Dammapet, Burgampad, and other stations. Police recovered six gold chains weighing 150 grams and three stolen two-wheelers worth Rs 26 lakh. The prime accused, Sunnam Nagendra Babu, is implicated in 83 theft cases across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. The gang targeted women sleeping outside homes at night, cutting chains with wire cutters.
