Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President Mahesh Kumar Goud and Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar said BRS working president K T Rama Rao was trying to wriggle out of the scare created by his sister and MLC K Kavitha by levelling false accusations against the Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy.
In separate interactions with the media, they said Mr. KTR is trying to shift focus from the Kavitha episode to the Congress by targeting Mr. Revanth Reddy. The embarrassment was clear, and so was the desperation in Mr. KTR’s reaction, trying to rake up a controversy that doesn’t exist. “ First, answer what your family member said about your party and your leader,” they asked.
Mr. Mahesh Goud, who is in New Delhi, called Mr. KTR’s press conference a panicked reaction to a new power centre within BRS. “To escape from the fire at home, he is raking up unrelated issues. The comments he made about CM Revanth Reddy are the result of confusion and desperation,” he said.
Mr Ponnam Prabhakar demanded Mr. KTR reveal who those demons around Mr. KCR were as claimed by Ms. Kavitha. The effort to divert the precarious situation developing in the BRS will not fructify and Mr. KTR has to answer the questions raised by Ms. Kavitha.
Referring to the corruption allegations surrounding the Kaleshwaram project, Mr. Mahesh Goud claimed that KTR was nervous due to notices being issued to his father and former CM K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR). “People are now fully aware of the TRS’s corruption over the last 10 years. Even Kavitha has admitted the party’s mistakes.” he said.
He further alleged that there is a secret understanding between BRS and BJP, which was revealed subtly through Ms. Kavitha’s letter to her father. He claimed that BRS was on the verge of a major split with Kavitha and KTR at odds. “Harish Rao is watching carefully, waiting for his moment. KCR himself is reportedly confined to his farmhouse, unable to manage the internal turmoil,” he claimed adding that the BRS will disappear from Telangana’s political landscape.
