A Malaysia Airlines flight from Kuala Lumpur carrying 159 passengers was forced to circle mid-air before landing at Kolkata airport after a laser beam disoriented the pilot. The flash came from the Madhyamgram-Barasat direction when the aircraft was about eight nautical miles from the runway, airport sources said. The plane, headed for Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport, had to circle for several minutes before landing safely. No injuries were reported.
