Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said on Sunday that a ‘Laxman Rekha’ would be drawn over the politics of appeasement that has been “practised in Delhi” so far.
She added that ‘Ram Rajya’ would be established in Delhi through the politics of contentment, ensuring the well-being and prosperity of all people.
“Lord Ram’s ‘Vanvaas’ was for 14 years; yours’ has been for 27 years. During these times, many evils took centre stage in Delhi. Every place appeared as Lanka and every person Ravan,” said Ms. Gupta.
She was addressing a Ram Navami event in Khayala, west Delhi, and thanked the people for bringing the BJP back to power in the city after 27 years.
“A ‘Laxman Rekha’ (a line not to be crossed) will be drawn over the politics of ‘tushtikaran’ (appeasement) that was being done in Delhi and now, there will be politics of ‘santushtikaran’ (contentment), added Ms. Gupta.
Ram Navami processions were carried out peacefully across the Capital, a senior police officer said.
Extra force was deployed at the central, north-west and south-east districts.
Clashes erupted in April 2022 during a Ram Navami procession at Jahangirpuri, north Delhi.
