# Lucas Digne returns to PSG from Aston Villa until 2029

Paris Saint-Germain have re-signed France defender Lucas Digne from Aston Villa, the Ligue 1 champions announced on Sunday. The 33-year-old left-back has signed a deal until 2029, returning to the French capital 11 years after his first stint. Financial details were not disclosed, but Sportstar reports PSG activated an GBP 8.5 million ($11.46 million) release clause, while The Hindu cites French daily L'Equipe saying the fee was EUR 10 million ($11.6 million). Digne began his career at Lille and first played for PSG from 2013-2015, winning two Ligue 1 titles. He later played for Roma, Barcelona, Everton and Aston Villa, where he helped win the 2026 Europa League under Unai Emery. The 64-cap France international has represented his country at two World Cups, including the 2026 semi-finals. PSG begin their Ligue 1 campaign against Rennes on August 23.
