Seven agencies have shown interest, said additional municipal commissioner Arvind Kumar Rao. The proposed plant will have a capacity to process 150 to 300 tonnes of green waste daily, against the current generation of around 100 to 115 tonnes. Currently, leaves and branches are dumped in open spaces or used as firewood. The new facility, to be set up on 3-4 acres under a public-private partnership, will convert waste into fuel and material for industrial furnaces and brick-making.
