The Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration suspended 14 food business licences after inspecting 86 quick-commerce outlets across the state on August 13, Times Now News reports. It also issued 60 improvement notices and ordered one facility in Karad to halt operations temporarily. Inspectors found expired food, cockroach and rat infestations, poor temperature control, unsafe storage, weak pest control and missing medical records for workers. The Times of India reports that nine suspended outlets were in Mumbai, involving Blinkit, Zepto and Instamart, while also naming Bhagwati Stores.
