# Mahipal Lomror joins Surrey for rest of County Championship season 2026-08-21T06:32:06+00:00 | Sports | Indian Opinion Desk Corroboration: 2 independent outlets Indian all-rounder Mahipal Lomror, 26, has joined Surrey for the remaining six matches of the County Championship season, making him the second player from Rajasthan after Rahul Chahar to play for the English county side this year. Surrey signed Lomror, a top-six batter with a first-class average of 42.62 from 63 matches and a career-best 300 not out in November 2024, to fill a gap left by Will Jacks' ankle injury and Dan Lawrence's England Test recall. Lomror captains Rajasthan in the Ranji Trophy and views the county stint as a chance to challenge himself in a new environment. Former England player and Surrey director Alec Stewart said the signing addresses the team's need for a batter who can bowl spin in the final stage of the season. ## Indian Opinion Analysis Both sources present this as a straightforward sports transfer.
