# Odisha CM blames external forces for misleading youth

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on August 15 said forces inside and outside India were trying to mislead and divide the country’s youth. Speaking at the Independence Day function in Bhubaneswar, he urged young people to prioritise their careers and backed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s efforts to address their problems. The Hindu reports that Majhi repeated his earlier claim that external forces were behind a Gen-Z protest over the Centre’s education policy. Majhi also announced that Odisha Civil Services aspirants would no longer face a six-attempt limit and could sit the examination until reaching the upper age limit, The Hindu reports. He assured farmers that Agri-Stack registration would not affect paddy procurement registration. The New Indian Express reported a separate announcement of free textbooks for students in Classes 9 and 10 at State-run schools.
