# Mallika Sherawat says European men are better than Indian men 2026-08-20T14:12:49+00:00 | Entertainment | Indian Opinion Desk Corroboration: 2 independent outlets (3 source reports) Mallika Sherawat has sparked online backlash after telling Shweta Tiwari on the reality show The Traitors Season 2 that she will set her up with a European man, adding that European men are far better than Indian men. The conversation took place in the billiards room with Rhea Chakraborty, who asked Mallika if European men are better to date. Mallika replied, "Is that even a question to ask? Are you out of your mind? Yes." Shweta laughed off the remark, asking why Mallika was after her. Shalini Passi then urged the group to focus on the game. Social media users criticised Mallika's comments as unfair, with NDTV reporting that many called the comparison inappropriate. Hindustan Times notes that Shweta has been married twice and has spoken about catching her husbands cheating. The Traitors Season 2 features a celebrity cast competing for a cash prize. ## Indian Opinion Analysis Both Hindustan Times and NDTV report the story as neutral wire-style coverage, presenting the quote and the backlash without editorialising. Neither outlet frames the remark as scandalous or defends it, they simply note the online criticism. The key takeaway for a careful reader is that Mallika's offhand comment on a reality show has generated social media debate, but neither source amplifies it beyond factual reporting. The next episode of The Traitors will air this week, and it remains to be seen if the controversy affects the show's dynamics. ## Coverage Coverage: 3 sources, 3 neutral - hindustantimes.com (neutral report) Straightforward report of the exchange and Shweta's personal history, no sensational framing - ndtv.com (neutral report) Brief factual report of the conversation, no opinion or embellishment - ndtv.com (2) (neutral report) Reports the backlash with user quotes, but maintains neutral tone This story was synthesised by AI from the 3 sources linked above.
