Mumbai Police arrested 36-year-old Mohammad Rizwan Ansari within 12 hours after a video of him assaulting a woman on a local train went viral. The incident occurred on August 5 around 5.30 pm on a Goregaon-CSMT train, when Ansari boarded at Jogeshwari and allegedly argued with the woman over a seat. Police said Ansari then molested, abused, and slapped the woman. Multiple videos circulated on August 6, prompting the Andheri Railway Police to trace the woman and record her complaint. A team from Wadala Railway Police caught Ansari in Govandi. A case was registered under sections 74 (assault with intent to outrage modesty), 296 (obscene acts), and 115 (assault) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
