The Government Railway Police (GRP) arrested a 29-year-old man at Jolarpet railway station in Tirupattur under POCSO Act for allegedly sexually harassing a nine-year-old girl on a moving train.
Police said the arrested person was identified as B. Kumar, a native of Chittoor. Initial inquiry revealed that the girl was travelling with her parents in an express train when Kumar sexually harassed her. The girl complained to her parents, who informed railway officials.
Based on a complaint by parents, the police nabbed Kumar, who was hiding inside the train. A case was registered. Later, Kumar was lodged at sub-jail in Tirupattur town. A probe is under way.
