# Manasa Varanasi cast opposite Sharwanand in George Krish 2026-08-25T01:46:31+00:00 | Entertainment | Indian Opinion Desk Corroboration: 1 independent outlet Manasa Varanasi will star opposite Sharwanand in *George Krish*, a family entertainer directed by Sreenu Vaitla. The former Miss India World 2020 has appeared in two Telugu films since her 2024 debut but has been seeking a breakthrough role. The film is produced by Anil Sunkara under AK Entertainments, with music by Anup Rubens. Manasa is expected to join the Hyderabad shoot in September. The film targets a theatrical release on 14 January 2027, the Sankranti festival window. *George Krish* arrives after mixed commercial results for both Sharwanand and the veteran director, who is returning to the family-entertainer genre that delivered his earlier hits. ## Indian Opinion Analysis For a female lead in Telugu cinema, the Sankranti release window is the most commercially significant of the year, often reserved for star vehicles targeting family audiences. Sreenu Vaitla last delivered a Sankranti hit with *Baadshah* (2013), and his subsequent films have struggled to replicate that box office form. Manasa Varanasi, a former Miss India World, has appeared in only two Telugu films to date. The upcoming schedule will test whether the combination of a director seeking revival and a relatively new leading actress can draw viewers into theatres, especially with the 14 January 2027 date set. ## Coverage - tracktollywood.com Led with opportunity for actress, framed as career turnaround for director and lead actor This story was synthesised by AI from the source linked above.
