Actor Manisha Koirala has described the moment she learnt she had stage IV ovarian cancer in 2012 as 'the loneliest and longest night' of her life. In an interview with Sushant Pradhan, she recalled feeling she would die and being in a 'dark, scary space'. Koirala underwent surgery and chemotherapy at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, finishing treatment in April 2013. She was later declared cancer-free. Koirala said the experience made her question her priorities. She admitted she had not cared about her health while working 18-hour days on multiple films. Now she wants a small, close-knit circle, time for nature, and meaningful work. She also acknowledged picking wrong film projects because she was tired of the profession.
