Delhi Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa on Tuesday (July 22, 2025) moved an application in the Delhi High Court seeking direction to summon a police report that has mention of the presence of former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal nath during at a crime spot during 1984 anti-sikh riots.

In the petition filed before Justice Ravinder Dudeja, Mr. Sirsa claimed that the report stated that Mr. Nath was present at the spot during the riot at Gurudwara Rakab Ganj Sahib on November 1, 1984 which claimed the lives of Inderjeet Singh and Manmohan Singh.

The report was submitted by former ACP of Delhi, Gautam Kaul, with then police commissioner, Mr. Sirsa said in his application.

The High Court on January 27, 2022, had directed the government to file the status report in the matter. Responding to the same, the Centre had filed an affidavit in which it mentioned that the report carried nothing on Mr. Nath’s role in the incident, the petition said.

Senior advocate H.S. Phoolka, who is representing the Delhi Minister claimed Mr. Nath’s presence at the scene of crime was well documented in police records and the same was also carried in multiple newspapers.

The court posted the application for hearing on November 18.
