# Manoj Sinha hoists National Flag at Srinagar’s Lok Bhavan

Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha hoisted the National Flag at Lok Bhavan in Srinagar on August 15 for the Union Territory’s 80th Independence Day. A ceremonial police contingent presented the National Salute. Sinha paid tribute to freedom fighters, security personnel and civilians who died in natural calamities this year. In his message, Sinha called for citizen participation in building a peaceful and prosperous Jammu and Kashmir. He cited heritage restoration, afforestation and infrastructure work, and urged transparency in governance, women’s economic empowerment, employment creation and environmental sustainability. He also congratulated J&K Police and CAPF personnel who received gallantry medals.
