The expulsion took effect on Thursday, as Uttar Pradesh’s election climate heats up, she said. Mishra, who was active in the Kanpur region, denied the charge and said he had been expanding the BSP’s base and helping its workers. On Friday, Mayawati assured the Brahmin community that the BSP would offer adequate tickets and government positions after the 2027 Assembly election, citing the party’s 2007 majority government. BJP, SP leaders and Brahmin organisations criticised the expulsion.
