A 30-year-old Meerut trader's family discovered a mark around his neck during his burial on September 28, leading them to suspect murder. The family had been told Talib died of a heart attack. Based on a complaint by his cousin, police have booked his wife Ilma and a local youth, Aman, for murder. Police will exhume the body for a post-mortem. Circle Officer Sangram Singh said the family grew suspicious after seeing Ilma gathering valuables before the burial and learning of her alleged friendship with Aman. Ilma has accused Talib of assaulting her, police said. The FIR was registered on October 3 at Lohiyanagar police station. 'The case has been registered. We will exhume the body to get a post-mortem done. We are in correspondence with Muzaffarnagar authorities,' said SHO Sumit Tomar.

## Indian Opinion Analysis

Indian Express leads with the dramatic discovery at the burial, reporting the family's allegation that Ilma did not let anyone remove the cloth covering Talib's neck. Hindustan Times adds the detail that Ilma accused Talib of assaulting her, a claim the other source omits, and notes she was seen gathering valuables before the burial. Both outlets report the same police actions and FIR. Neither outlet questions the police account. The coverage is consistent: the family's suspicion drives the case, and the post-mortem is the next concrete step.
