He was traced safely to Tiptur in Tumakuru district and brought back to Shillong, officials said on Monday. The search was launched after a memorandum submitted on July 27 reached Chief Minister Conrad Sangma, who then contacted the Karnataka government. A Meghalaya Police team led by IPS officer Lovish Garg travelled to Bengaluru and worked with Karnataka Police. A breakthrough came when Sumer contacted his family via social media with help from Kavi Kumar, who had sheltered him. Police reconstructed his movements and found him safe. Sangma thanked both police forces.
