# Meta launches Muse Spark developer preview alongside Muse Code beta

Meta opened a public developer preview of its Muse Spark 1.1 model, which the company says can write and debug code, operate external software and tools, interpret text, images and video, and carry out complex multi step tasks with less human oversight, NDTV reported. Developers in the United States can now test prompts and prototype integrations through the Meta Model API, receiving $20 in free credits before pay as you go pricing applies, priced above OpenAI's entry level GPT-5 mini and Anthropic's Claude Haiku 4.5 but below Anthropic's Claude Sonnet 4.6. The New Indian Express reported separately that Meta has launched Muse Code in beta, built on Muse Spark 1.2 rather than 1.1, a discrepancy between the two outlets over which model version underpins the tool. Muse Code is built to parse large software projects, plan the work, edit multiple files, run tests and fix errors, aided by background AI agents that search project files and check documentation while the main model writes code.
