# Mount injury not serious, says United boss Carrick after PSG friendly

Manchester United manager Michael Carrick has played down fears over Mason Mount after the midfielder was forced off inside 20 minutes of Saturday's 1-1 pre-season draw with Paris St Germain in Gothenburg. The 27-year-old appeared to hurt his foot after a challenge and was replaced by Tyler Fletcher. "He got kicked," Carrick said, adding that the club wanted to be careful. Mount was later seen walking without difficulty. He has made only 25 Premier League starts in 114 since joining from Chelsea in 2023. On the pitch, Ibrahim Mbaye put PSG ahead inside two minutes, but Bryan Mbeumo equalised before the break. Carrick said he was encouraged, noting his players had to problem-solve. United begin their league campaign against promoted Hull on August 22.
