Recently inducted Minister for Animal Husbandry, Fisheries, Sports and Youth Services Vakiti Srihari on Monday created a flutter when he said he has been assigned complex portfolios which were earlier mismanaged by the BRS rulers, leaving him perplexed.
He was speaking at a meeting held near the Lower Manair Dam (LMD) after inaugurating a swimming pool at the Regional Sports School and various other development works in Karimnagar on Monday. Minister for Transport and Backward Classes Welfare Ponnam Prabhakar and others were present.
Addressing the meeting, Mr. Srihari said the Animal Husbandry and Fisheries portfolios were marred by allegations of irregularities in sheep distribution and release of fish seedlings during the BRS rule.
The three crucial factors — Neelu, Nidhulu and Niyamakalu — propelled the Telangana movement towards its logical end, he recalled, blaming the decade-long rule of BRS for the ‘sorry state of affairs’ plaguing the Youth Services and other portfolios allotted to him.
He, however, emphasised that despite the complex portfolios given to him, he would strive to perform better.
