# Mithun Chakraborty hospitalised, undergoes minor surgery in Kolkata

Veteran actor and BJP central committee member Mithun Chakraborty is admitted to a private hospital in Kolkata after a minor surgery on Thursday night. Times of India reports that West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari visited him and said the operation was small and the actor is recovering well. Chakraborty had wanted to keep the matter quiet, informing only state party leaders. Adhikari posted on Facebook that he met the actor and prayed for his speedy recovery. He told reporters the actor will be discharged soon. Calling Chakraborty an invaluable figure in the state, Adhikari said his contribution goes beyond politics.
