Climate tech startup Mitti Labs has raised $9.5 million (Rs 90 crore) in Series A funding led by Aramco Ventures, with participation from Godrej Industries Group, Cisco Foundation, and others. The company plans to expand its water-saving rice cultivation programme across India and launch greenfield projects in the Philippines and Indonesia. Its GeoAI platform, developed with support from NASA, uses satellite radar and ground data to help farmers adopt Alternate Wetting and Drying (AWD), which cuts water use by 40% and methane emissions by half, the company claims. Mitti Labs currently works with over 150 million smallholder farmers and sells verified carbon credits to enterprises.
