The Times of India reports that a man died and another was injured after villagers allegedly beat two men accused of firing at a resident over a land dispute in Patna’s Laxmichak village on Tuesday night. Police said one suspect escaped, while Suraj Kumar, 28, died during treatment and Vivek Kumar, 22, remained hospitalised. Investigators recovered cartridges and a motorcycle allegedly stolen from Phulwari Sharif. Hindustan Times reports a separate incident near Patna’s Zero Mile on Friday, where a man died after being hit by a car. An angry crowd allegedly blocked the road with the body, set three police jeeps on fire and pelted stones. Officials said traffic was restored and the situation was under control.
