# Modi, Netanyahu discuss West Asia and India-Israel cooperation

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke by phone on Thursday about recent developments in West Asia, the Prime Minister’s Office said. They reviewed progress in the India-Israel Special Strategic Partnership and reaffirmed plans to strengthen cooperation across sectors for mutual benefit. The leaders agreed to remain in touch. The call came as the conflict in West Asia entered its sixth month without a lasting resolution, according to the Times of India and Hindustan Times. Iran said it was in the final stages of drafting an agreement with Oman on the Strait of Hormuz, through which nearly one-fifth of global oil and natural gas shipments passed before the conflict.
