# Modi, Netanyahu discuss West Asia and India-Israel ties

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke by phone on Thursday about developments in West Asia and progress in their Special Strategic Partnership, the Prime Minister’s Office said. They reaffirmed plans to strengthen cooperation across sectors and agreed to remain in contact as tensions continue. Modi said on X that the partnership was growing and that the leaders had exchanged views on the regional situation. The Times of India reports that the call came as Israel faces criticism over its military offensive in Gaza and that India’s ties with Israel have drawn opposition criticism. Cooperation includes defence, technology, agriculture, water management, trade and research.
