Corroboration: 2 independent outlets

Producer Antony Perumbavoor has confirmed that Drishyam 4, the next instalment in the Mohanlal-Jeethu Joseph thriller franchise, is happening and production will begin soon. He made the announcement at a recent award function, Pinkvilla reports. Drishyam 3, released in May, grossed roughly Rs 240 crore worldwide but received mixed reviews. M9.news reports that many fans consider the trilogy saturated and have criticised a fourth film as an unnecessary extension driven by commercial motives. Netizens have begun trolling the actor and director online. It is not yet known when Drishyam 4 will release.

## Indian Opinion Analysis

Pinkvilla simply reports the Drishyam 4 confirmation as a straight film-industry news item. M9.news leads with the fan backlash and the “unnecessary sequel” framing, foregrounding trolling and speculation about motives. The balanced view is that a fourth instalment is indeed confirmed by the producer, but the trilogy already had mixed reviews, so audience appetite is uncertain. Watch: whether Drishyam 4 gets a theatrical release date within six months or is shelved due to sustained negative social-media response.
