# Two engineering students held after Rajamahendravaram medico hit-and-run

Two engineering students were taken into custody after a car allegedly hit a two-wheeler carrying MD student Priyanka in Rajamahendravaram on August 3. The New Indian Express reports that the accused, Suravarapu Dusvant, 24, and Desabhatula Andrew Joseph, 23, had consumed liquor before the incident and fled the scene. Priyanka suffered critical head injuries and was first treated locally before being shifted to Hyderabad. Police registered a case. The Hindu identifies the accused as N. Daswanth and Andrew Joseph, and reports that Rajamahendravaram MP Daggubati Purandeswari condemned the incident and assured action against them.
