The accused, Arvind Valmiki (24), stopped the siblings and offered them a ride on his motorcycle. He first drove them towards fields by a canal, then diverted to a spot behind the school, where he raped the girl. When the boy tried to intervene, Valmiki beat him. The children were abandoned at the scene. The girl lost consciousness. The brother managed to reach home and tell the family, who rushed her to hospital.
