Madhya Pradesh’s Directorate of Public Instruction has ordered schools to record daily attendance online for Classes 9-12 through Education Portal 3.0. Teachers must mark each student as Present, Absent or On Leave; the system initially shows all as present, requiring teachers to adjust absent or leave entries before saving. The department will regularly analyse attendance data to identify students with consistently low attendance and direct schools to take additional academic measures. Schools must also contact parents of students who remain absent continuously. The move follows concerns over irregular attendance across the state.
