# Mrunal Thakur stays silent on role in Allu Arjun’s Raaka 2026-10-13T04:30:50+00:00 | Entertainment | Indian Opinion Desk Corroboration: 2 independent outlets Mrunal Thakur has neither confirmed nor denied reports that she is part of Allu Arjun and Deepika Padukone’s upcoming sci-fi action film Raaka, directed by Atlee. In an interview with Mid-Day, the actress said she has not signed any film in nine months and is waiting for a meaningful role. “Now, whatever announcement has to happen, it will happen on my social media handle and then I’d love to talk about it,” she said. Thakur added that she wants creative satisfaction from her work. Her name had been linked to Raaka for two years. She featured in four movies in 2026: Do Deewane Seher Mein, Hai Jawaani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, Dacoit: A Love Story, and the crime thriller Pooja Meri Jaan, released on ZEE5 on 2 October. ## Indian Opinion Analysis Both outlets report Ms Thakur’s non-denial identically, taking her comments from her interview with Mid-Day. Times Now frames the story around the Raaka rumour, using the headline to ask whether she is part of the film, while Mid-Day leads with her statement that she has not signed any film in nine months. Times Now adds more detail about her 2026 filmography, which Mid-Day omits. The coverage is otherwise uniform straight reporting with no discernible slant. The only open point is the date when she will announce her next project on her social media. ## Coverage Coverage: 2 sources, 2 neutral - timesnownews.com (neutral report) Leads with Raaka rumour, adds filmography detail - mid-day.com (neutral report) Leads with nine-month signing gap, omits filmography This brief was synthesised by AI from the 2 sources linked above, so one read covers every framing they carry.
