# Mumbai property demand rises as July registrations and luxury sales climb

Mumbai is projected to record 13,617 property registrations in July 2026, up 8.3 per cent from a year earlier and the highest July total in more than 14 years, Knight Frank India reports. Stamp duty revenue for Maharashtra is expected to reach Rs 1,223 crore, up 8.9 per cent. The figure exceeds July 2025’s 12,579 registrations and Rs 1,123 crore revenue. Separately, a Sotheby’s International Realty and CRE Matrix study reported by Times Now found that Mumbai luxury homes worth Rs 10 crore and above generated record sales of Rs 18,512 crore in the first half of 2026. Sales volumes rose 26 per cent year on year to 957 homes, though the report expects growth to moderate as buyers face a high base and a more cautious market.
