# Rebel TMC MPs ask Bengal CM to stop mosque loudspeaker removal

Two Murshidabad MPs, Abu Taher Khan and Khalilur Rehman, met West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari on Saturday and urged him to halt the removal of loudspeakers from mosques. Khan alleged police were acting "overenthusiastically" and that Muslims were being targeted. Adhikari reportedly said around 3,800 microphones had been removed, including from nearly 1,200 temples. The MPs also sought faster hearings for the 27 lakh people excluded from electoral rolls during the SIR process. Khan said genuine voters face delays in passport verification, land registration and welfare schemes. Adhikari told them about 7 lakh of the 27 lakh had applied for hearings; he assured steps to expedite appeals.
