The first single from the long-awaited sequel to the 1997 Kannada classic America America has been released. Titled 'Run Run', the song is composed by Mano Murthy and sung by Shankar Mahadevan and Shreya Ghoshal. The film, directed by Nagathihalli Chandrashekhar, will hit theatres on September 11. Nagathihalli says America America 2 is not a continuation of the original story but a new love triangle set in Seattle. The cast includes Shanvi Srivastava, Pruthvi Ambaar, and Nirup Bhandari. The director insisted the film is a Kannada film first and will go to international festivals only after local audiences respond.
