Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu hoisted the national flag and reviewed a parade in Amaravati on Saturday during the 80th Independence Day celebrations. He urged people to help make India and Andhra Pradesh number one by 2047, linking the state’s Swarna Andhra goal with the Centre’s Viksit Bharat target. Hindustan Times reports Naidu said the state’s growth rate had reached 11.3% and claimed the government had spent Rs 1.56 lakh crore on welfare and Rs 1.34 lakh crore on development in 26 months. He also cited investment proposals worth Rs 24 lakh crore, which he said could create 11 lakh jobs. These figures and his allegations about the previous government’s debt were presented by Naidu.
