# Godavari waters through Pattiseema aid Krishna delta irrigation

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday inspected Godavari water flowing into the Krishna river through the Pattiseema project at Prakasam Barrage in Vijayawada. Naidu observed the barrage was filled with Godavari water and said abundant availability through Pattiseema was enabling irrigation releases for the Krishna delta amid severe rainfall deficiency from El Niño conditions. Officials told the CM that 17.52 tmc ft of Godavari water had been diverted into the Krishna this season. They said 521 tmc ft had flowed into the sea due to heavy upstream inflows. Releases of 7,158 cusecs were being made through the Krishna Eastern and Western Main Canals and Guntur Canal. Naidu directed officials to ensure efficient water management so delta farmers do not face irrigation difficulties.
