A four-km pipeline from the Coronation Pillar sewage treatment plant will bring treated water to fill the 6.5-acre lake daily, replacing the current borewell supply. Excess water will irrigate 10 nearby parks. The plan also includes two musical fountains, landscaping, a peripheral drain, and a revamped toilet block. The project, inaugurated by minister Kapil Mishra, is scheduled for completion by July 2027. Officials say the lake is important for groundwater recharge, temperature control, and as a habitat, besides offering recreation.
