# Nawazuddin Siddiqui resumes Tumbbad 2 shoot in Satara 2026-08-21T16:51:59+00:00 | Entertainment | Indian Opinion Desk Corroboration: 2 independent outlets Nawazuddin Siddiqui has started the next shooting schedule of Tumbbad 2 in Satara, Maharashtra, after completing a US stage tour with his daughter Shora. The actor finished the first schedule of the horror sequel in June. The film is directed by Adesh Prasad and is scheduled for a theatrical release in December 2027. Alia Bhatt has joined the cast in a pivotal role, a development confirmed by producer and actor Sohum Shah in July 2026. The sequel continues the folklore of the cursed deity Hastar from the 2018 cult film Tumbbad. Both Hindustan Times and Bollywood Hungama report that further details about the storyline are being kept under wraps. ## Indian Opinion Analysis Both sources report the same factual development uniformly: Nawazuddin Siddiqui resuming the shoot after a US tour. Neither outlet adds political, commercial, or critical framing, the coverage is straight production news. Hindustan Times gives slightly more emphasis to the Alia Bhatt casting announcement, while Bollywood Hungama provides more background on the original film's cult status. The measured takeaway is that the sequel is progressing steadily through scheduled filming phases. What to watch: whether the makers announce further casting or a release date update before the end of 2026. ## Coverage Coverage: 2 sources, 2 neutral - hindustantimes.com (neutral report) Straight production update, no slant detected - bollywoodhungama.com (neutral report) Straight production update, no slant detected This story was synthesised by AI from the 2 sources linked above.
