# Nayanthara joins Rajinikanth’s Dharman cast 2026-10-25T17:10:57+00:00 | Entertainment | Indian Opinion Desk Corroboration: 2 independent outlets Nayanthara has come on board Rajinikanth's upcoming film 'Dharman', the makers announced on Sunday (25 October 2026). The film is produced by Kamal Haasan's Raaj Kamal Films International and directed by Ashwath Marimuthu. The director welcomed Nayanthara with a social media post after the production house teased a new addition with the line, 'Some Eyes say it all. THE CHARISMA ARRIVES'. Nayanthara wrote on her X account, 'OnToTheNext with One and Only Superstar.' Rajinikanth and Nayanthara have previously worked together in films including 'Chandramukhi', 'Kuselan', 'Darbar' and 'Annaatthe'. The Hindustan Times reports they also worked together in 'Shivaji The Boss', a film The Hans India does not list. The cast also includes Simran and Raashii Khanna. The film's first-look poster showed Rajinikanth in scrubs with a bloody scalpel in an operating theatre, with the tagline 'The deadly doctor'. ## Indian Opinion Analysis Both outlets report the same casting announcement with straight, non-partisan framing. The Hans India leads with the casting confirmation and director's welcome, while Hindustan Times adds background on the film's multiple director changes and the first-look poster detail. The only factual disagreement is the count of previous Rajinikanth-Nayanthara films: The Hans India says four and omits 'Shivaji The Boss', whereas Hindustan Times says five and includes it. The coverage is otherwise uniform wire-style reporting with no editorial slant. Neither outlet states a release date or next schedule, leaving the production timeline open. ## Coverage Coverage: 2 sources, 2 neutral - thehansindia.com (neutral report) Straight cast announcement with director quote, no slant. - hindustantimes.com (neutral report) Announcement with production history, no editorial framing.
