Near Prahovo in Serbia, at least 20 German military vessels from the former Black Sea fleet have reappeared. Retreating German forces scuttled the ships in September 1944. Some may still contain unexploded ordnance. Navigation has been disrupted in parts of the river. In Bulgaria, researchers found mammoth remains including a jawbone, tusk fragments, a shoulder blade and a femur. In Budapest, water levels fell to four inches, below the 2018 low of 13 inches.
