The caller, claiming to be Zeeshan Akhtar, said he was linked to the Rohit Godara gang and threatened to kill Siddique in the same manner as his father. Baba Siddique, a former Maharashtra minister, was shot dead in Bandra in October 2024. The caller also claimed he had ordered Baba Siddique's elimination two years before the murder and objected to what he called Zeeshan Siddique's 'illegal business'. Police have registered a non-cognisable offence. Zeeshan Siddique, who was abroad, returned to Mumbai on Thursday.
