# NCP(SP) MPs meet PM Modi; Congress pushes for women’s quota stand

A delegation of eight NCP(SP) MPs led by Supriya Sule met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence on Monday. Congress had urged the ally to convey the INDIA bloc's opposition to linking women's reservation with the proposed delimitation exercise. The MPs raised issues of drought, farmer suicides, and urbanisation in Maharashtra, submitting a memorandum listing demands including Bharat Ratna for social reformers. Modi assured action. The proposed delimitation bill and FCRA amendment were not discussed. The MPs said they will oppose the FCRA bill.
