# Operation Safed Sagar Added Over Rs 215 Crore to Indian Economy

Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos said the series Operation Safed Sagar contributed more than US$24 million, or over Rs 215 crore, to the Indian economy. The announcement was made at the series’ Delhi premiere on August 6, a day before its Netflix release, according to The Federal and Bollywood Hungama. Netflix said the 115-day production across 11 Indian cities directly hired more than 200 cast and crew members, used over 4,000 daily hires and worked with more than 850 local businesses. Fifteen India-based VFX studios employed nearly 1,200 artists, contributing around Rs 49 crore, the company said. The series is based on the Indian Air Force’s 1999 Kargil operation.
