# New York mayor reschedules public livestream for August 5

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s interactive livestream, Talk With The People, will begin at 6 pm on Wednesday, August 5, after his office announced a schedule change on social media. Twitch will be the main platform, with the programme also available on YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, X and Bluesky. Residents can submit questions during the broadcast. The mayor’s office says the series aims to make city government more accessible and transparent, especially for younger people. The programme draws on former mayor Fiorello LaGuardia’s 1940s radio show Talk to the People. Announced in May, it has not yet provided evidence of its impact.
