# Newborn wrapped in plastic abandoned in Mancherial

A newborn baby, wrapped in a plastic cover, was abandoned at a junction in Naspur mandal centre in Mancherial on Monday. Locals spotted the baby and alerted police, who shifted the infant to a hospital. The child, weighing about 3 kg, is healthy and under doctors' observation. She will later be moved to a home run by the Women Development and Child Welfare department. A case has been registered, and investigations are under way.
