The National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested Haris TA, the main conspirator in the Kerala illegal explosives case, from Manjeri in Malappuram district on Saturday. With this, the total number of arrests in the case has reached 10. The NIA had earlier arrested three accused from Vijayapura in Karnataka. The case originates from the seizure of 89,600 explosive sticks and 10,500 detonators from a lorry parked at a hollow bricks factory compound in Chemmad on February 7, 2026. Kerala Police initially arrested three people. The NIA took over the investigation in April 2026, citing national security implications, and conducted searches at 19 locations across Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, recovering digital devices and documents.
