# NIA arrests UKNA finance head in Manipur IED blast killing two children

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Wednesday arrested S Palal Thadou alias Lalboi Singson, an alleged finance head of the proscribed United Kuki National Army (UKNA), in connection with the April 7 IED attack at Tronglaobi Awang Leikai in Manipur’s Bishnupur district. The blast killed two minor children and injured another person. A special NIA court in Imphal remanded Thadou to 10 days’ police custody. The NIA said the arrest was the first in the case, which it re-registered under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. Manipur Police said Thadou was earlier held in separate cases and had allegedly admitted his role. The UKNA has denied any involvement in the attack.
