# NITES seeks labour ministry action over Wipro onboarding delay

IT employees’ union NITES has approached the Ministry of Labour and Employment over the delayed onboarding of more than 200 candidates selected by Wipro under its Elite Hiring 2025 process. The union says the candidates cleared assessments, received offer letters in July 2025 and Letters of Intent in August, reconfirmed interest in December, and completed Wipro’s Codility assessment and background verification in March 2026. NITES has sought clarity on offer validity, reasons for the delay and a time-bound joining schedule. It also wants candidates rejected to be informed in writing. Wipro told PTI it remains committed to onboarding the freshers in line with business requirements and will provide further updates.
